Market Leder – FxStat, Currensee or MyFxBook?
Posted on 22. Oct, 2011 by Jakob.
FxStat has been around for some time and their popularity is increasing, which is not surprising. The first time I went to the site I thought of it as a completely copy of MyFxBook. Although there are many similarities, the two sites still follow their own trajectory. I have had a very solid opinion of my preferred “social” forex website (which has been reflected on here on TradeProfits) but I am starting to lean a bit more to the other side. With the recent addition to FxStat of Market Leader, I thought it would be a good idea to look closer at the main three social forex websites.

What Happens After the End of QE2 – Currensee
Posted on 20. Jun, 2011 by Jakob.
Currensee, one of the many social forex sites, is hosting an online discussion event with a live Q&A session around QE2. The presenters will be John Forman, Mike Baghdady, Martin Huff-kotkom and Boris Schossberg; needless to say that this should turn out to be an interesting event. There will be a focus on the following topics:

Manage a Million-Dollar Account?
Posted on 16. Nov, 2010 by Jakob.
Currensee constantly hosts a wide range of activities and their newest addition really caught my eyes as the title reads: Currensee and Varengold invite you to enter the $1,000,000 Trading Challenge!”. Now a trading competition is not really something new as FXCM has been hosting monthly contest for a long time now but there are a couple of reasons why the Contest from Currensee is far more interesting than any other trading competition out there. First of all, the potential prize here is far more interesting that what I have seen before

FxStats – Analyze Your Trades
Posted on 01. Oct, 2010 by Jakob.
FxStats is a new site which I read about for the first time, yesterday over at ForexMagnets. My first impression was that this is an exact copy of MyFxBook, specially due to the look of the main page. However, according to Michael, the site should have some really neat features, so I went over and tried to sign up which took me about 10 seconds; however I was told to confirm the sign-up process by clicking a link in an email which should be sent to me instantly after signing up. It has now been more than 20 hours since I signed up, and so far I have still not received anything. I tried signing up with another email account as I might have made a typo the first time. However, still no emails and I am still unable to log in. Not really the best impression to give a first-time-almost-user. Anyhow, judging from the information posted on the site, it does look like a cool project and I am still eager to give it a try. As mentioned above, it probably has a lot of similarities to MyFxBook and all the other social forex sites out there, but I am still interested in testing FxStats. I will keep everyone updated, as soon as I get access to the site.

MeetFx – Another Social Forex Site
Posted on 25. Apr, 2010 by Jakob.
MeetFx is a new social site for forex traders. The site has some similarities to facebook, and is very different from Currensee (who claims they don’t want to be facebook for forex traders). MeetFx was launched recently so the activity is somewhat limited. However, there are new signups pretty much every hour and hopefully the activity on the site will increase in a near future. The site is built with the social network script called Social Engine; this has pros and cons, but somehow I feel that this will limit the potential of MeetFx in the sense that Social Engine has a limited number of features. Social Engine seem to be a drag and drop kind of script, whereas the guys from Currensee have built everything from scratch. There are good and bad things about both sites, and right now, I would prefer to have a combination of the two. One thing which I like about MeetFx, is the What´s New section. This is the first page you reach once you have signed up. This is somewhat similar to facebooks feed, where you can see recent news about members of the site. Then you can add friends, create groups (join my group here), check the calendar, chat, etc. There is also a forum connected to the site, but only a few threads at this time. I don’t know if MeetFx will succeed, but right now new members are joining and I think there is some potential.

Non-Farm Payroll Tomorrow
Posted on 04. Mar, 2010 by Jakob.
Tomorrow is the first Friday of the month and Non-Farm payroll numbers will come out; the supernova of forex trading. Trading the Non-Farm Payroll can be very lucrative or it can blow up your account within a couple of seconds if you don’t know what you are dealing with. In the last couple of month I have had some very good entries, trading this event. As always, there are a couple of webinars that will take you through this event, and try to explain the reasoning behind the moves in the market, in real time. Although I have not received any email about it yet, I expect that Wayne McDonell will host a webinar. I have not attended his webinars but I have seen some recaps on YouTube, and they are rather good. Currensee and Alex Kazmarck will also host a webinar, limited to total of 100 people. You have to be a member of Currensee to join the webinar with Alex Kazmarck, and I think you need to be a member of FxStreet to join Wayne. However becoming a member is free. If this is your first time trading the Non-Farm Payroll, I highly recommend you follow someone who has been trading it before. You can also join me in my chat room, as I expect to take a trade shortly after release.

Currensee Connects with Oanda
Posted on 03. Mar, 2010 by Jakob.
Those of you who have been following mere here at TradeProfits know that I have been using Oanda as my preferred broker for a long time. Although I don’t like their platform that much, they have very good spreads, fast execution, you can deposit money through paypal, and most important they operate a very honest business. The social forex trading network Currensee has now connected with Oanda; so if you are a member of Currensee and have an account with Oanda, you can now connect the two, hence share and track all your trades on Currensee. This is a great addition to Currensee, and I think a lot of traders will appreciate this. You can read more about it here.

I have written about Bob Iaccino several times before here on TradeProfits. I have been a member of one of his services Trader Outlook, which I really enjoyed. You can read my review here. Bob Iaccino is a skilled forex trader, and this upcoming Friday, you can join him when he is hosting a seminar together with the social site Currensee. Here are the details of the event:
