Looking for the Holy Grail – Listen to Kelvin

Kelvin, the owner of How To Trade Currency is doing a great job posting useful and informative articles. His latest post is a clear-cut advice to a question I have been asked a trillion times; What is The Best Forex Trading Strategy. I am sorry to break it to you like this, but there isn’t any holy grail out there, at least not in the sense of “no losing trades” or “making you rich within the end of the week” type of crap that every EA marketer tries to convince you. But, the good news is, there are some very good strategies which tend to work rather well, and breakout trading is one of them. You can read all about it over at Kelvins blog. I am glad to see another blogger in this industry who frequently updates with informative articles. Thumbs up. Keep up the good work Kelvin!

FirePips Has Gone Elite

Posted on 22. Apr, 2010 by .

FirePips is a blog founded by a guy from Australia who calls himself FirePips. He has been around for a couple of month now. He has been posting interesting articles about different aspects related to forex trading, but the main driver of his blog has been his free signals, which were posted on a daily basis. He has posted his progress on all the major forex forums, his signals has been posted on his blog, facebook, twitter, and was sent via email for free to all his subscribers. He did pretty good with the signals, and he quickly got a lot of readers. Now about two weeks ago, FirePips decided to open an (paid) Elite club for his members to get his signals and other benefits. It only took a few hours before it was sold out. I am glad that FirePips has done so well, and I am sure things with his Elite Club are going good. However, I am sad to see that his blog, ever since the launch of his Elite Club, has been absolutely dead. Although he has moved his signals to his paid service, I still would have enjoyed reading a post every now and then. I am not about his plans with the blog. I am sure I am not the only one who would like to get back in the blogging game. If things stay this way, I might just have to remove FirePips from ForexPop. However, if you got a minute, head over to his blog and do some reading. He has a couple of good posts.

Forex Robots Factory – Testing Expert Advisors

Forex Robots Factory – Testing Expert Advisors

Forex Robots Factory is a new site somewhat similar to 4xproject. The main purpose with the site is to test new expert advisors, but they also have short reviews on books and manual systems. They have a live testing section where you can compare result from several different expert advisors. Overall the page looks good, and my guess is that this site will be a popular place for people who are considering buying a new EA. However, as Michael from ForexMagnets has highlighted, there are some pitfalls. The main issue is probably that they don’t test these expert advisors on real accounts, which means that you should not expect to see the same results if you chose to use one of these EA´s on a real account. Michael also mentions that Forex Robot Factory is using affiliate links for all the products tested on the site. I don’t really think this is a big issue. If people want to buy one of the products tested by Forex Robot Factory, it seems fair that they get a percentage. I know that 4xproject operates on a similar basis, and so do I. Anyhow, it will be interesting to see how this site develops in the future. I will be following.

Traders often tend to look for highly complicated trading strategies, and end up with a cluttered screen which might make things more complicated than they truly are. Keeping things simple can be beneficial in many ways, but often simple trading strategies needs to be tweaked one way or another to be profitable. The owner of No Brainer Trade has written a great post, which shows you exactly how to go about, optimizing a simple strategy and how astonishing the results can be. The simple use of a trading log, and analyzing the details of it, can obviously be very rewarding. Check it out here.

4xMillion – A 4xProject

4xMillion – A 4xProject

4xMillion is a new website created by the founders of 4xProject. 4xProject is a website devoted to testing new expert advisors; they are testing a large number of different EA’s and the page is a good source of information, if you consider buying one. 4xMillion is a new project, where the goal is to turn $1000 into one million, only through the use of expert advisors; a rather ambitious goal that is! 4xProject is the foundation of it, in that they will be using expert advisors which have passed 4xProject’s criteria’s, especially in terms of forward testing. The way I understand it, is that they will use a portfolio of different EA´s with customized settings, and change them over time when needed. Currently they use two expert advisors, namely MegaDroid and Forex Nuke. Although I don’t have much faith in the project, it should be interesting to see what the guys from 4xproject can pull off. I will be following them from time to time. Check out 4xMillion here.
