Two Contest Opportunities with FXCM

As most of you probably know, FXCM is hosting a monthly contest for all their micro account members, and the upcoming month is no exception. You simply need to have an account balance of $500 (as a minimum) at October 1st and you will automatically be part of this contest. The winner is based on the largest percentage return. So if you have some super scalping skills or a killer EA, you might want to join in. I prefer to skip the entire thing as the winners tend to have some 1000% return and this will most likely affect you in a psychological way and make this a playground for fear and greed where all rational aspect are put aside. I have been there and I have no intentions of going back. However, if you go into this, knowing it will be an absolute gamble, due to overleverage and overtrading, then I still think it could be a fun ride. The other contest from FXCM might a better option as this is risk-free (at least in terms of capital). Due to the bullish price action we’ve seen due to the increased risk appetite and positive sentiment on the EUR/USD, we’ve rallied to a point where EUR/USD looks like a pretty good sell on the daily and 4hr charts near the top of a potential wedge or consolidation range, so I’m getting short here on EUR/USD between 1.2850 and 1.2890 (now 1.2873) and using a 50-80 pip SL looking for 70-150 pip TP down.  Read more... From Criminal to Best Selling Author, motivational speaker and consultant – Jordan Bellfort

Some years ago I bought the book “The Wolf of Wall Street” which is a true story about Jordan Belfort; a guy who made a very successful boiler room all based on fraud. Actually the movie Boiler Room was loosely based on his company. He has now spent 22 month in jail and turned his life upside down. You can find several videos on youtube about him. His book The Wolf of Wall Street is a good read and has become a best seller, although not very educational. He has really made an impressive turn in his life, and is now a motivational speaker and consultant for companies like Sony, Virgin International, etc. Now one of the most known internet marketers Andy Jerkins has made an arrangement with Jordan, where they will host a free webinar together, where you can hear more about it. Although this might not be particular about trading, I am sure there will be some related stories, and I think it will be an interesting event.
